My Top 10 Horror / Slasher Shower Scenes

As a follow up to my top 10 Bath scenes, here's my Top10 favourite Horror/Slasher Shower scenes:

#10 - Stephanie Chambers - "Seed Of Chucky" - 2004.

Whilst the first three instalments, "Child's Play", "Child's Play 2" and "Child's Play 3" were played straight, and "Bride of Chucky" was more of a horror comedy, "Seed Of Chucky" is definately a comedy, with some horror thrown in for good measure. This scene is the eye candy part of the movie and features Stephanie Chambers, an English actress who played Gabby Parr in the U.K. soap "Brookside", as well as roles in "New Tricks", "Doctors" and "Emmerdale".

                              --------------------------------------------------------------

#09 - Lisa Wilcox - "A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child" - 1989.

Taking place a year after defeating Freddy in "The Dream Master" Alice (Lisa Wilcox) is back and she's carrying her boyfriend Dans baby. Freddy of course is using her unborn child to get at his victims. The movie opens in style as Alice walks into the shower after a night of sex, and gets distracted by dirty gunk bubbling up from the shower floor. Then as water floods into the cubicle Alice becomes trapped. She tries to break free but is transported into a dream world.

                              --------------------------------------------------------------
             #08 - Drew Barrymore - "Doppelganger" - 1993.

One of my favourite Drew scenes!! . . . Holly Gooding (Barrymore) moves from New York to Los Angeles after being implicated in a murder. She is followed by what is apparently her evil twin. Whilst in LA she finds a room for rent by a writer and the two begin a love affair. After some "strange occurrences" it becomes less and less clear whether the woman is in fact Holly or her Doppelganger.

                              -----------------------------------------------------------

         #07 - Candace McKenzie - "Pinocchio's Revenge" - 1996.

A female lawyer believes an accused child murderer arrested five years ago to be innocent. He thinks the Pinocchio doll he made for his son told him to kill children. Unable to stop his execution in time, the lawyer accidentally takes home the doll, as her daughter Zoe is having a birthday party, and of course she thinks its a birthday present. Soon, accidents start happening, then "Pinocchio" loses his strings and the real killings start as the demented doll takes over the little girl.

                              --------------------------------------------------------------

          #06 - Katharine Isabelle - "Freddy Vs Jason" - 2003.

Freddy Krueger is trapped in Hell and he is enraged . . . The children of Springwood have forgotten about him, making him powerless, thus he cannot come back on his own. Determined to make them remember and fear him, Freddy locates Jason Voorhees in Hell and disguises himself as Jason's mother, convincing him to rise again and go to Springwood to kill the children and allowing Freddy to be remembered again.

In this scene, "Ginger Snaps: Unleashed" star Katherine Isabelle, takes a shower, whilst her boyfriend . . . . . well you'll see.

                              -------------------------------------------------------------

    #05 - Lisa Dunsheath - "The Prowler" (Uncut) 1981
my edit

aka Rosemary's Killer . . . . In 1945, a World War II veteran returns home to Avalon Bay, New Jersey to find a "Dear John letter" left by his girlfriend. He then murders her and her new boyfriend at the graduation dance. Thirty-five years later and it's the first dance since the killings, the murderer is back and he's decked out in battledress and wielding an assortment of weapons to kill again. This is one of the most gruesome scenes in the movie where Sherry (Lisa Dunsheath), is impaled in the shower with a pitchfork. This is the uncut version.

                               -------------------------------------------------------------

#04 - Angie Dickinson - "Dressed To Kill" - 1980 - (Unrated version)

Kate Miller (Angie Dickinson) plays a sexually frustrated housewife and mother living in the suburbs of New York, and is in therapy with New York City psychiatrist Dr. Robert Elliott (Michael Caine) whom she attempts to seduce, but is rejected.

The film was the target of mild controversy when it became known that the nude body in the opening scene, was not that of Angie Dickinson but of Penthouse model Victoria Lynn. The controversy stemmed mostly from Dickinson's status at the time as being a mature, still-slender and shapely, sex symbol; the provocative shower scene, and the film, originally seemed to cash in on the idea that this nude body was that of its star. However, the revelation of a body-double seemed to do no harm to its box office takings.

                             --------------------------------------------------------------

#03 - Nancy Allen - "Dressed To Kill" - 1980 - (Unrated version)

Two clips from one movie in my top 10, this time it's Nancy Allen who plays prostitute Liz Blake. She happens upon the dead body of Angie Dickinsons character in a lift and catches a glimpse of the killer in the lift mirror, which makes her the prime suspect in the murder and the killer's next target. As she showers in this, the film's final sequence, she is attacked and slashed in the throat in a bloody act of vengeance but wakes up screaming realising that the attack was just a dream.

                             --------------------------------------------------------------
                      #02 - Sissy Spacek - "Carrie" - 1976.

Just missing out on my No.1 spot, but making it into both my bath and shower lists, it's the memorable opening scene from "Carrie" . . . You were warned never to push her to the limits, now you must face the consequences. A socially outcast teenage girl with telekinetic powers, Carrie White, gets pushed too far on one special night. She transforms from an innocent girl to a rage-filled monster, and this is going to be a prom no one will ever forget.

This clip also features Nancy Allen again. The film was Directed by Brian De Palma and written by Lawrence D. Cohen. Based on the novel "Carrie" by Stephen King, the film was nominated for 2 Oscars.

                             --------------------------------------------------------------

so it's to my top shower scene from a horror / slasher movie . . . . . and the winner is . . . .
                     #01 - Janet Leigh - "Psycho" - 1960.

Nearly 50 years on and its probably the most famous shower scene from any movie, ever . . . Alfred Hitchcocks notorious and still gripping film, Psycho.

Larcenous Janet Leigh picks the wrong place to spend the night, The Bates Motel. Everything about this film was just brilliant as far as I am concerned. I couldnt believe the star of the film got "bumped off" so early on. The film reportedly cost just $800,000 to make and yet it has earned in excess of $40,000,000. The shower scene although not as graphic as some of its "imitators" still manages to hold your attention and although it has been copied many many times over the decades, in my opinion it has never been bettered. This is my all time favourite horror movie shower scene.

I hope you have enjoyed my Top 10 Horror/Slasher Bath and Shower clips. Quite some diversity in the choice and no doubt other people will have their own favourites. I just hope I have managed to include one of your favourites in these posts.
